FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About House of Animals

Do you have questions about House of Animals or your donation? Check out the frequently asked questions here.

1. I want to make a donation through the website, but I'm having trouble. Where can I report this?

If you're unable to make a donation through the website, you can send an email to info@houseofanimals.nl.

2. How do I adjust my donation amount?

You can adjust your recurring donation amount (increase or decrease it) by sending an email to info@houseofanimals.nl. Please specify the new amount and the effective date.

3. I've changed my bank (account). How do I report this change?

You can change your bank account information by sending an email to info@houseofanimals.nl, specifying both your old and new account numbers and the date you want the change to take effect.

4. How can I cancel my donation to House of Animals?

You can cancel your donation by sending us an email at info@houseofanimals.nl, specifying your donation amount and the last four digits of the account number from which the donation is debited. Your direct debit will then be canceled within a few days. You will receive a confirmation email.

5. I accidentally set up a monthly donation instead of a one-time donation—how do I change this?

That can always happen. You can send an email about it to info@houseofanimals.nl. Your monthly direct debit will then be converted to a one-time donation.

6. Is House of Animals a Public Benefit Organization (ANBI)?

The House of Animals Foundation has been an ANBI since January 1, 2013. You can find us on the tax authority’s website under RSIN number 851455712.

For clarification: In 2019, the foundations Animals Today (Chamber of Commerce number 54827817, established in 2011) and Stichting House of Animals (Chamber of Commerce number 66420539, established in 2016) merged. The latter foundation has been dissolved (it was also an ANBI with RSIN number 856545053). The Animals Today Foundation has adopted the name “House of Animals Foundation.”

On our website, under "Financial Accountability," you'll find more information about the accountability documents.

7. What is recurring giving, and why should I do it?

With a recurring donation, you can deduct the entire amount of your donation from your taxable income each year without any threshold amount applying. Donations made without a donation agreement are also deductible, but an income-based threshold applies to them. As a result, you can only deduct the portion of your annual donations that exceeds that threshold from your income tax.

A recurring donation must be made for at least 5 years. You’ll donate a fixed amount each year. Recurring donations start at €60.00 per year.

You can make your recurring donation as a single annual payment or in monthly or quarterly installments. You can also authorize us to automatically debit the amount from your account on a recurring basis.

You can find more information under " Recurring Donations."

8. Can I make a donation directly if I don't want to donate through the website?

Yes, that's possible. If you'd prefer to make a direct bank transfer, you can use the Triodos account number NL65 TRIO 0198 0364 93 in the name of House of Animals Foundation.

If you’d like to donate toward a specific cause—such as the dog trade, the cat trade, emergency aid for Ukraine, or general purposes—please indicate this in the description of your transfer. We’ll then ensure that your donation is used for that purpose.

9. Can I include House of Animals in my will?

Yes, that's possible. You can find more information about this on our website under " Estate Planning." You can also send an email to info@houseofanimals.nl, and we'll get in touch with you.

10. I need a receipt for my donation to House of Animals for my tax return.

You can request a receipt at info@houseofanimals.nl. When submitting your request, please also specify the latest date by which we must provide you with the receipt.

11. How do I request a receipt for my donation on behalf of my company?

You can request a receipt for your donation by emailing info@houseofanimals.nl. Please include the date and amount of your donation, as well as your company's full contact information. You will then receive a confirmation of your donation via email.

12. I'd like to organize a fundraiser or collection for House of Animals. Is that possible?

Sure, we'd be happy to. If you'd like to organize a fundraiser, we can create a QR code or payment request for your fundraiser. To request a QR code, payment request, or promotional materials, please send an email to info@houseofanimals.nl.

Examples include a birthday or anniversary fundraiser, participating in a sporting event, or selling items. You can find additional information and more examples about organizing fundraisers for House of Animals on our website under “Organize a Fundraiser.”

As a charity, we're also listed on the Supporta fundraising platform. On this site, you can start your own fundraiser—for example, for a sporting event you're participating in.

My question isn't listed among the questions above. What should I do now?

Please send your question to info@houseofanimals.nl.

Please let us know if you're moving or if you have a new phone number or email address, so that we have your correct contact information and can keep you updated on our activities.
