Adopt a War Animal

In Ukraine, countless animals are suffering as a result of the war. They have lost their homes, live in uncertainty, and long for attention, safety, and care. Our help is literally a matter of life and death—not just today, but for as long as the war continues.

With your support, you’re helping to provide food and medicine, shelter, and safety—not only for your pet but also for its fellow shelter animals.

Adoption Requirements

For a fixed monthly amount, you can sponsor one of these animals. Your contribution will cover the direct care needs of the animal you choose, such as food, shelter, and medical care.

If all of the animal's care needs are (temporarily) met and there is money left over as a result, the remaining amount will go to his or her friends at the shelter.

In the unlikely event that your adopted animal passes away or moves, the adoption will end, and we will notify you. You can then continue to support the adoption program by adopting another war animal.

Here's how it works:

  • Choose one of the animals and indicate the amount you'd like to donate on the adoption form. You will then become a co-adopter.
  • You will receive a certificate as proof of the adoption.
  • Your adopted animal will remain in Ukraine, and you’ll receive an update on how the animal is doing once every quarter.
  • Payment is made by direct debit and is valid for at least one year. After that, the adoption is automatically renewed for another year.

. Payment is made via direct debit and is valid for at least one year. After that, the adoption is automatically renewed for another year.

What's included in the adoption package?
If you decide to become an adoptive parent, you’ll receive a lovely adoption package in the mail containing a personalized adoption certificate, a photo, and your pet’s biography. You’ll also receive regular updates about your pet.
Am I the only adoptive parent of my pet?
Our animals may have multiple adoptive parents. Thanks to all of our adoptive parents combined, House of Animals can continue to rescue animals in need and provide them with loving care. By adopting an animal, you become part of the House of Animals adoption program.
Does the aid go only to my pet?
No, with a symbolic adoption, you provide financial support to all the animals in our shelters. If all of the animal’s care needs are temporarily met and there is money left over, the remaining amount goes to his or her friends at the shelter.
How much does an adoption cost?
The cost of adopting an animal varies by animal. For example, large animals need more food than small animals and are therefore slightly more expensive than small animals. You can choose from two different amounts:

9 per month for a small animal such as a dog or cat
12.50 per month for a large animal such as a horse, donkey, or camel
How do I pay for the adoption?
Adoption payments are made monthly via direct debit. This helps us keep costs low and ensures that as much money as possible goes to the animals.
Can I adopt more than one animal?
Absolutely! You can adopt as many animals as you want.
I want to give an adoption gift. How does that work?
An adoption is a great gift to give to other animal lovers—for a birthday, wedding, or the holidays, for example! Have the package delivered to your home and give it to the lucky recipient in person.
Is the adoption for a limited time?
Of course, we hope you’ll continue to support us for a long time. If you’d like to stop, you can do so at any time. You can revoke your authorization via our contact form, by email, or by phone.
What if my adopted pet passes away?
If your adopted animal passes away or moves, the adoption will end and we will notify you. You can then continue to support the adoption program by choosing another war animal.
