Elke dag worden dieren slachtoffer van illegale handel, broodfok, mishandeling en georganiseerde misdaad. Achter ogenschijnlijk onschuldige advertenties op Marktplaats of sociale media gaat vaak een wereld schuil van winstbejag, misleiding en intens dierenleed.

De Animal Crime Unit (ACU) is sinds 27 mei 2025 de eerste Nederlandse onderzoekseenheid die zich volledig richt op dierencriminaliteit. Wij onderzoeken meldingen, gaan undercover, verzamelen bewijs en zorgen dat daders worden aangepakt.

Omdat ieder dier een stem verdient.

What We've Achieved So Far

The ACU cares for all animal species—dogs, cats, horses, goats, ferrets, rats, and more. Thanks to our supporters, we were able to make this happen:

• Eersel Horror Breeder Brought to Justice—Following Our Undercover Operation, Jan P. Was Convicted of Serious Animal Cruelty.
• Illegal Parrot Trade Exposed – We uncovered that a dealer had been breaking the law for years, including through prohibited hand-rearing and poor housing conditions for parrots.
• Foxes and other animals rescued—two silver foxes rescued; reports filed regarding animal abuse and mistreatment.
• Illegal puppy mills cracked down on— from neglected dogs in Eindhoven and illegal dog trafficking in Zaandam to foreign puppies that are too young and being sold.
• Report of abuses —including the slaughter of a chicken without anesthesia on the TV show *No Way Back VIPS*.
• Investigation and charges— against a Dutch “Most Wanted” breeder suspected of serious animal abuse.
• Possession bans fail as a punishment— an undercover investigation showed that people continued to sell puppies, kittens, and other animals despite the ban.
• Misleading business practices addressed – an investigation into the 4Paws bracelets led to a criminal complaint after it became clear that claims about helping animals could not be substantiated.
• Wolf Attacks Exposed as a Money-Making Scheme—We Revealed How a Pony Dealer Received Tens of Thousands of Euros Without Fixing His Fence.
• Collaboration with the animal protection unit —thanks to effective cooperation, Pomeranians and other dogs were seized from a rogue dealer.
• Exposing abuses in the media— through investigations, publicity, and reports to law enforcement, we put pressure on authorities to take action against animal suffering and violations.
• Closure of Bert's Animal Rental —the controversial animal rental company was declared bankrupt and barred from operating.

Dit is slechts een deel van wat we doen. En het is nog maar het begin.

Waarom jouw steun nú nodig is

Terwijl jij dit leest, zit ergens in Nederland een pup opgesloten in een donkere, te kleine kooi. Zonder water. Zonder zorg. Zonder iemand die voor hem opkomt.

Ergens anders wordt een dier verhandeld alsof het een product is. Alles voor de winst. Niets voor het welzijn van het dier.

Wij weigeren weg te kijken. Maar we kunnen dit niet zonder jou.
